Teacher’s screen and voice transmission

Teachers PC screen and microphone audio are sent to the students. Teachers PC screen can be displayed in full screen and window size.

Video distribution

DVD and video footage or video files such as MPEG can be simultaneously distributed. Teachers can choose a display mode of either full screen or window size for students.

Monitor / thumbnail display

This function enables teachers to monitor the screen and audio of the students. Teachers can monitor multiple students at once and switch between Monitor and Intercom as needed.

Intercom

Teachers can remotely control each student’s PC while talking to the students.

Model (Students Showcase)

The screen and audio of any students can be presented to all students.

On-Screen Annotation

On-Screen Annotation / Teachers can draw on the screen when sending out teachers screen, intercom, or model.

Pair conversation practice

Students can practice conversation in pairs, assigned by seat number or at random. During the conversation, the teacher can switch pair partners or let latecomers join the conversation without affecting the conversation of other pairs.

Dialogue recording

Conversations can be recorded, saved and retrieved.

Screen sharing

The students in each pair (or group) can share the PC screen of one of them during a conversation.

Designation of pair members

Teachers can designate any one of the people in each pair (or group).

Group work

Conversation and screen sharing can be done within groups designated by teachers or in groups set up by students on their own. Files can be exchanged within each group.

Out-of-class group work

During outside-of-class time (when teachers is not running the CaLabo® EX controller), students can form their own groups and show the screen of the group leader in each group to other members.

Chat

Chats on the chat board can be held within the whole class or between pairs/groups.

Call teacher

Students with a question can call teachers.

Response

Teachers responds to calls from students via the headset or chat systems.

Analyzer

Choice-type questions with time limits are distributed, and responses are tabulated in real time. Teachers can instantly see which students answered correctly the spot with the results saved as a CSV file.

Quiz

Create tests that combine multiple-choice, true/false, and essay questions are distributed for proficiency testing. Results are automatically graded and fed back to each students. It is possible to save the percentage of correct answers and answer details by students/question in a CSV file.

Assessment sheet

Peer assessment sheets are distributed for assessing presentation skills, etc. The results are tabulated on the spot and saved in a CSV file.

File distribution / collection

Teachers can distribute files of teaching materials and collect them individually from each students. After collecting the files, teachers can correct them and return the corrected results.

File Submission

Students submit assignment files to teachers.

Automatic selection

Randomly select a students from those present.

Voice transmission

Seamlessly switch between audio sources: Teachers microphone, PC audio, and external input.

Sending teaching materials

Images and sound from audiovisual equipment and teachers PC can be sent to a projector or room speakers as required.

Remote control of audiovisual equipment

Audiovisual equipment can be operated remotely on teachers PC.

Operation Lock / Blackout

Our system allows teachers to temporarily lock the student’s PC keyboard or mouse control or black out the screen.

Seat icon display

The desktop screen of each student’s PC is displayed on the seat icon.

Power management

Teachers simultaneously controls all students’ PCs by using the remote turn-on/off, restart and logon/logoff buttons.

Remote activation

Teachers starts applications on all students’ PCs.

Application monitoring

The seat icon shows which application is used on students’ PCs.

Simultaneous display of URLs

Teachers starts the default browser to simultaneously display any websites on students’ PCs.

Application Blocking

Teachers can temporarily keep a student or students from using applications and/or browsers.

Web Restrictions / Program Restrictions

Temporarily prohibits browsing websites and using specified programs on the student’s PC.

Out-of-class internet control

Our system enables teachers to set restrictions on students’ out-of-class access to websites from their PCs when teachers’s PC is not running.
Teachers can specify restriction schedules (days of the week or specific dates). Even while the scheduled restrictions are still in place, teachers can temporarily lift restrictions as needed required.

Active Directory (AD) integration

The Active Directory linkage function automatically displays each student’s name from the user authentication data collected at Windows logon. Also, the student ID number can be retrieved and reflected in attendance information and file names when files are collected and submitted.

Class setting

Seating layouts, seating charts and groups can be set up for each class.

Attendance records

An attendance sheet will be displayed at the beginning of each class to take attendance.Late students can check themselves in.

Save attendance results

Save each student’s attendance results in a CSV file.

Seating layout

The layout can be freely adapted to the seating arrangement in the classroom.

Group creation

Teachers can create groups freely by randomly selecting student icons and dragging and dropping them into a group tab area. Teacher can freely change groups during class.

Controller language

Languages on teachers PCs’ control screen can be available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and other languages.

Dual monitor

The system can be constructed with a dual monitor setup which is always showing teachers control panel on one screen.
Teachers can operate their own desktop or control panel with a single keyboard/mouse.

Multiple layouts

Multiple seating layouts can be registered for each class.
